Company History

In 1919 the family business was founded by Ing. Hans Hammerschmied. They originally produced farming equipment. The business grew fast.

In 1934 a foundry was set up.

In 1955 the business started to flourish again after the difficult economic situation in and after the Second World War.

In 1962 after his father’s death Dr. Hans Hammerschmied became the head of the business.

In 1964 an automated foundry was built in Ernstbrunn. The assortment was expanded.

In 1982 another production plant for farming equipment was set up in Leobendorf near Korneuburg.

In 1989 an efficient and environment friendly furnace equipped with a gas/ oxygen burner was installed in the foundry in Ernstbrunn.

In 1990 the family business was divided into the farming equipment business with its head-quarters in Korneuburg and the foundry business with its headquarters in Ernstbrunn. The same year Dr. Stefan Hammerschmied and Mag. Gerhard Hammerschmied took over the management of both business from their father.

In 1997 the automatic cast production equipment HSP3 was installed.
